The company was founded in Bremen in 1977 as KASTENS & KNAUER GMBH & CO metal-service center KG. In 1988, KASTENS & KNAUER GMBH & CO INTERNATIONAL KG was founded for the rapidly growing area of import and export business and aviation.

In 2000, all activities were combined in KASTENS &; KNAUER GMBH & CO INTERNATIONAL KG.

1977:            Trade and simple machining such as sawing and cutting

1978:            First CNC processing machine

1984:            Commencement of the aerospace products business segment and first approval by MBB

1986:            Expansion of capacities in Bremen

1991:            Move to Lilienthal's Klosterweide industrial estate with 20 employees

1992:            First extension buildings

1995:            New office building

1996:            Purchase of further neighbouring hall space for production and storage

1999:            Acquisition and expansion of production in Göbelstraße, Lilienthal, Moorhausen industrial estate

2001:            Acquisition and expansion of the storage area in Hilligenwarf in the Moorhausen industrial estate

2005:            New office building for central administration and sales

2006:            New construction of a large warehouse and production hall

2006:            Inauguration of the first high-bay racking system

2008:            Inauguration of the high-bay racking systems #2 and #3

2016:            Three more new halls and inauguration of the high-bay racking systems #4 to #6

2016:            Takeover of Koch + Krupitzer in Schenefeld as of 01.10.2016

2017:           Takeover of the operational business of Hofmeister & Meincke Metallhandel GmbH as of 01.01.2017
